Two wrinkly brothers run this website. They are not strong readers, so a human wrote the rules down for them. Here they are in plain words, in three short chapters.
In one sentence
Enjoy it, share a link, and do not sell the dogs.
Everything below is that sentence with the corners filled in.
By using this website you agree to what is on this page. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. That is the whole idea. The rest just fills in the details.
Chapter one
Using the site
Using it the right way
You are welcome here. Look at the photos. Read the stories. Send a link to a friend. That is what the site is for.
There are a few things we ask you not to do:
- Do not try to break the site, slow it down, or reach parts of it that are not open to the public.
- Do not use bots or scripts to scrape or copy the site in bulk.
- Do not send anything harmful, such as a virus or malicious code.
- Do not use the site to harass anyone, or to send unwanted bulk mail.
- Do not pretend to be Potato, Hash, the owner, or anyone else.
- Do not use the site for anything against the law.
If someone uses the site in one of those ways, we may block their access. We do not have to give notice first.
Who owns the photos and the words
The photos, videos, drawings, names and writing on this site belong to the owner of Potato and Hash. That includes every picture of the two dogs and every line of text on these pages.
You may
- Enjoy all of it, as much as you like.
- Share a link to any page on this site.
- Post a screenshot on social media, if you credit Potato and Hash and link back.
Please do not
- Use the content to sell anything, including stickers, prints, shirts, mugs or digital goods.
- Put the photos or videos in an advertisement.
- Claim the content as your own, or remove a credit.
- Use the images to train a machine learning model.
- Copy large parts of the site to build a similar one.
If you want to use something commercially, just ask. Write to info@potatoandhash.com and say what you have in mind. A yes has to come in writing from the owner. Silence is not a yes.
Things you send to us
Right now the way to reach us is the contact form and email to info@potatoandhash.com. Later, if the video request service opens, there will be a form for that as well.
When you send us a message, a photo, an idea or a request, a few things are true:
- You keep ownership of what you send.
- You give us permission to read it, reply to it, and use it to do the thing you asked for.
- You promise that what you send is yours to send, and that it does not break anyone else's rights.
- You agree not to send anything cruel, hateful, obscene or unlawful.
- We may choose not to reply, and we may delete a message.
If you send a suggestion for the site, we may use it without owing you anything. Please do not send confidential information through the contact form.
Our email goes out through a company called Resend and arrives from info@potatoandhash.com. Ordinary email is not a secure or private channel, so treat it the way you would treat a postcard.
Chapter two
What is not open yet
Nothing on this site is for sale today.
The store and the video service
A merch store, customer accounts and personalized video requests are planned. None of them are open. There is no checkout, no basket, no payment and no order.
When any of them do open, each will bring its own extra terms covering things like orders, payment, delivery and cancellation. Those extra terms will sit alongside this page. If the two ever disagree about a store or video matter, the extra terms are the ones that apply to it.
When payments begin, they will be handled by Stripe. Card numbers go straight to Stripe. This site never sees them and never stores them.
Owner suppliedThe return window, the shipping times, the refund period and the video turnaround. Every one of those is a promise, and a guessed promise is worse than a blank, so all four are left blank until the owner sets them.
Links to other places
Some pages link out to social media or to other websites. Those places are run by other people. We do not control them and we are not responsible for what is on them. Once you follow a link away from here, their rules apply, not ours.
Chapter three
The small print
Plain disclaimers
Here is the honest version of the usual fine print:
- The site is offered as it is. We try hard, but we do not promise it will always work perfectly.
- It may go down, load slowly, or show a broken page. Sometimes we take it offline to fix things.
- We try to keep everything accurate, but there may be a mistake or an out of date detail somewhere.
- Nothing here is professional advice. That includes anything you read about dogs, health, food, training or care. Potato and Hash are pets, not veterinarians. Talk to a real vet about your own animal.
- Every dog is different. What suits a Shar Pei in one home may be wrong for yours.
- We do not promise the site is free of every bug, or that your device will never have a problem.
Limits on what we owe you
This part matters, so here it is in ordinary words.
If something goes wrong because you used this site, we are not responsible for the losses that follow. That covers lost time, lost money, lost data, lost business and upset feelings. It covers problems caused by the site being down, by a broken link, by a mistake in the text, or by something you decided to do after reading a page here.
We do not try to escape responsibility for things the law says cannot be escaped, such as our own fraud. Some places do not allow certain limits at all. Where that is the case, the limits here apply only as far as they are allowed, and the rest of this page still stands.
Needs a lawyerA limitation of liability, a governing law clause and a dispute process are the three parts of a terms page that a qualified lawyer should write for the country the business actually sits in. This section is written to be understandable, not to be relied on as drafted, and it has not been reviewed by anyone qualified.
Owner suppliedThe legal entity that runs this website, and the country or state whose law governs these terms and settles any dispute. Both are left blank rather than guessed.
Children
This site is friendly for all ages and we are glad when families read it together. We do not knowingly collect information from young children. If a child has sent us a message and a parent or guardian would like it removed, write to info@potatoandhash.com and we will delete it.
Hosting and privacy in brief
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Messages from the contact form and newsletter signups are stored in a Cloudflare database, and both forms are protected by the Cloudflare Turnstile bot check. There is no analytics on this site at all. The privacy page has the full story.
Ending access
We may block or limit access at any time, for anyone, if we believe the rules on this page are being broken. You can stop using the site whenever you like. The parts about ownership, submissions, disclaimers and limits keep applying after you stop.
How these terms may change
These terms will change over time. The store may open. The video service may start. Rules will need updating.
When we change something we will post the new version here. Small fixes, such as clearer wording or a typo, may happen quietly. For a bigger change we will make it easy to notice. Using the site after a change means you accept the new version. If you do not like a change, the answer is simply to stop using the site.

A few last notes
- If one part of this page turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce a rule right away, that does not mean we gave it up.
- This page, plus any extra terms for the store or the video service, is the whole agreement between you and us about the site.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms to somebody else.
Which law applies, and where a disagreement would go
This is the one clause on the page that cannot be written yet, and it is worth explaining rather than leaving as a blank.
Terms of use have to say whose law governs them and which courts would hear a dispute. Both follow from where the business behind the site is registered, and that has not been decided, so naming a country here would be picking one at random and asking you to agree to it. We would rather have an obvious gap than a made up answer.
Until it is filled in, none of this takes away rights you have where you live. If you are a consumer, the protections your own country gives you apply whatever this page eventually says, and no wording here is meant to reduce them.

Not legal adviceThis page was written to be clear and truthful rather than to be a finished legal instrument. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer, and nothing on this site claims to be certified or compliant with any particular law. The privacy page carries the same note for the same reason.
