Who they are, and why there is so much skin involved.
Who are Potato and Hash?
They are two Shar Pei brothers. Potato is the one who comes to say hello, every time, to everyone. Hash watches first and decides in his own time, and once he has decided about you, that is settled. Together they are the reason this website exists.
Are they really brothers?
Yes. Same family, same wrinkles, wildly different personalities.
Why are they so wrinkly?
Shar Pei are born with a good deal more skin than dog. Some of it smooths out as they grow, and quite a lot of it never does. Both brothers have plenty to spare.
Are the photos on this site really Potato and Hash?
Not yet. While we wait for their own photos and videos, some pictures and clips are temporary stand ins, and every one of them carries a small Placeholder label so you always know which is which.

Can I buy merch?
Not quite yet. The shop is being put together right now. Join the list on the follow page and you will hear the moment it opens.
When does the shop open?
No date has been set. We would rather tell you the day it is genuinely ready than promise a week and miss it, so there is no countdown anywhere on this site.
Can I request a personal video from them?
Custom videos are coming, and the custom videos page explains exactly how the process will work. Requests are not open yet, so nothing can be ordered today.
How much does a custom video cost?
The price has not been set yet. Rather than show a number that might change, we are leaving it off the site until it is final.
Why some answers stop
We would rather say we do not know.
A price, a launch week, a shipping time: every one of those is easy to guess at and impossible to take back once somebody has planned around it. So the answers on this page stop where the facts stop, and they will grow the day there is something real to put in them.

Where can I follow them?
The follow page lists every official channel. If a channel is missing from that page, it means the account is not live yet, so please be careful with any account claiming to be them elsewhere.
Can I use your photos or videos?
Personal sharing is very welcome. Commercial use needs permission first, so please write to us before using anything in a paid or promotional setting.
Is there a newsletter, and what does it involve?
There is. You give an address, we email you a link, and you are only on the list once you open that link, which is how we make sure nobody signs anybody else up. Every issue we send carries an unsubscribe link at the bottom.
Do you work with brands?
Yes, on the right projects. Have a look at the press and partnerships page, then send the details and we will take a proper look.

The website and your details
What this site knows about you, which is far less than you might expect.
What happens to my email address?
It is used to send you the newsletter, and nothing else. It is never sold and never handed to anyone. Ask us to delete it and we will, no reason needed.
Are you tracking me?
There is no analytics on this site today. Nothing is being measured and no analytics cookies are being set. If that ever changes, the privacy page and the cookie page will say so plainly rather than quietly.
Something here is hard for me to use
Then it is our problem to fix, not yours to work around. The accessibility page sets out what this site already does and what is still missing, and it is kept honest rather than flattering.
How do I report a problem with the website?
Email info@potatoandhash.com and tell us what happened. If something is hard to use, or impossible to use with a keyboard or a screen reader, we want to know and we will fix it.
